“We the People” is a section of the whitehouse.gov web site that enables citizen-authored petitions. You have to register, then validate a web site address by clicking their email to you. Then you can vote for WH petitions.
These petitions must generate 25,000 sign-offs to receive full public attention. An earlier effort for Manning in September and October was lightly publicized and generated 6,619 sign-offs. Surely we can reach the 25,000 mark.
We petition the Obama Administration to:
First pardon all crimes, then support Bradley Manning for the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize.
Horrendous acts related to the Iraq War have damaged America. In comparison, this young man Manning supported our very American views of civilization.
We are a democracy. We cannot skip responsibility.
Our most barbaric crimes remain broadly unpunished. We killed 24 children and unarmed civilians at Haditha. We ran Abu Ghraib’s torture chambers. We rushed into that war and had no idea what was happening.
Bradley Manning’s theft of the Crazy Horse One-Eight video led to ending this American ignorance. Formal “Rules of Engagement” cannot replace moral commitment.
Bradley Manning changed America. We are stronger.
Prosecution now has Manning at risk of his life, charged with Aiding The Enemy. Please, a full pardon. Then, as well, please support Manning for the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize.

Compared with what Douglas Feith and Richard Cheney and the other NeoCon / “Vulcans” did to get us into that war and what our military brass did to cover up the tens of thousands of “video game” murders, this kid Manning might as well have been caught jaywalking.
His life is on the line. That is not an exaggeration. Please spread the word. The simplest little petitions break that 25,000 sign-off mark — plus once you get a WH account set up there are other opportunities to vote on useful petitions. These WH petitions present an interesting mechanism.
And by the way: then-President Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon. Compared to Nixon and his burglars and his “Dirty Tricks” monsters ??? After the election we all know that Obama can surely pardon Manning. We need to make him do it. “We” meaning everyone worldwide who can get to the web site.
We are the 99% and we must go in peace.

There’s also a Facebook page. Fell free to use it to share information moving forward.
Vote Bradley Manning the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize
This article will scroll off. That page will be converted to a “Timeline” format soon. “Timeline” makes FB look-backs somewhat easier, plus the streams function works to access related FB postings.
Thank you for registering a vote for this kid.
Thanks for the petition and to Sam G. too.
Thank you.
I am #16.
No disagreement substantively, but we have got to get out of the habit of petitioning Obama for Obama’s abuses. His DOJ put Bradley where he is, sanctioned his torture, and keeps him there. Obama is not the good guy we should go to for help. Politely petitioning or saying we will still support him but not as enthusiastically just encourages further abuses.
