MSNBC is reporting that a major news source, one that I will not name, has documents that may prove that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin violated ethics rules.
Rough transcript of MSNBC’s report:
An Independent investigator found evidence that Palin received improper gifts through a trust fund set up by her supporters to help pay legal debt. There is probable cause that Palin attempted to use her official position for personal because she authorized the creation of the trust fund as the official legal defense fund.

This is NOT the iceberg, pups…
Pain, who was tweeting away all morning, stopped tweeting about 75 minutes ago.
She stopped tweeting? She must be sick.
Or maybe all that tweeting was costing Alaska money…
As Scooter Libby and other top Republicans have cause to know, legal defense funds exist explicitly to pay for defined legal expenses, and can solicit funds from the public to do so.
If Ms. Palin took the money to pay for legitimate legal bills, as opposed to adding another wing on her house or for a long weekend in Vegas, this would be an abundantly stupid problem to have stepped into.
If this is the iceberg, Ms. Palin is steaming the Bearing Sea in winter blind and drunk.
The question the AK bloggers are pursuing this afternoon is “If Palin has known this report was coming, and in an adverse way, what is the status of funds she has solicited so strenuously since she knew about the investigation’s possible course?”
The Anchorage Daily News is now carrying an expanded version of D’Oro’s earlier story:
she just tweeted:
The ADN is now linking to a PDF of the report (still pending, Sarah?) on their front page.
If the basis for the complaint is that well-known people, public figures or public officials, unduly benefit from their fame by way of increased contributions to legal defense funds, then all legal defense funds would be suspect. Including the one set up, I believe, by Joe and Valerie Plame. I hope the objector has more than that.
It is based upon the way our Alaska executive ethics statute is worded.
I’ve posted The Daniel Report at my place as nine jpegs.
Thanks twolf and everyone else. Pass the popcorn.
