  I totally agree. Let this bill die and come back next year with the gloves off, take on insurance, Big Pharma, the whole corrupt greedy mess. Be courageous and explain to the rest of America how the successful systems, which have a private non-for profit heavily regulate component do it in France, Sweden, Germany and other parts of Europe. People still make money, lots of it, but you are not be raped and robbed blind. If the dems can do this, and put it in place next year, I think they will win,win big. But it is dangerous, and I think not enough power and control is in place to take on media, which will be required to actually get the truth out over the MSM deception factory.

  It’s a dream to hold to while we digest the mandated shit sandwich being shoved down our throats.

  I agree, but it won’t happen. Attention is already being diverted to thinking about the 2010 elections. Barring a miracle, the Dems will lose seats in both houses making REAL HCR even more remote. The only hope is to simply let the situation fester a while longer, allow more people to take the health care arrow in the neck and someday a critical mass for change will push it through. The Great American Public is like a stupid, stubborn donkey that must take repeated hits to the head with a baseball bat before it starts to finally get the point. At this point, not enough smacks.

  I’m in total agreement as well. It’s really a shame that they failed so miserably at educating people about it and now it’s a big ugly mess, but it has that magic “D” next to it so “hurrah”. It will be worse than the status quo. Sadly, most people won’t really “get it” until they feel the pain, in their wallets and their health. {sigh}

   high-larious. since a lot of Beltwayers view SNL as a sign of how the winds are blowing, maybe this will get Obama to push back a little and actually show some leadership once the conference process begins.

   One day soon we will all come to the realization that Obama is one of them, not one of us. I should have known that with the FISA vote before the election, but I didn’t wise up until he caved once more to the banksters, didn’t prosecute torture and intentionally killed single payer. Real reform won’t happen with this White House and probably not with this congress. Too many stinky, smelly, bad-seed corporatists.
