The only way Obama gets replaced is to force his hand on the wars beginnin’ right now and to pack the hollowed out local Democratic Party structure with organized anti-war representatives. The only issue that matters politically for progressives for the next 2 years is the oil war….nuthin else matters either politically of economically until the war is ended and the taxpayer paid mercenary armies are shrunk to the size that can be drowned in a bathtub by the regular military. The military budget will take care of itself once the wars are ended and the corporate armies disbanded.
I hate to say this folks but nuthin’ else matters, not DADT or tax cuts for the rich or UI extensions until the war is ended. Right now we have no politics because the aparatus of the state is controlled by the corporate oligarchy through the elmasculation of the congress and the bi-partisanship of fear and homeland security.

This conflict which is based upon Pakistan-India enmity will go on forever. Pakistan will not stand for an India-allied country on its western flank. You can’t blame them. The current Kabul “givernment” is allied with the Northern Alliance which is allied with India.
Under these conditions there is no way US involvement will ever end. The US will continue to be caught between Pakistan and India.
It is not only AfPak, it is really AfPakIndia. But there is no mention of India in the report summary, and nobody asked about it. Why is this not a matter of concern?

Unemployment insurance isn’t a shame. The dance they are doing in DC is but the insurance itself is not and until the dance is done, there are people who don;t know how they are going to pay rent or feed themselves and their families. This is the man with a doctorate in Russian Studies who as head of the Soviet desk in CIA completely missed the impending collapse of the Soviet Union because he was too busy telling Reagan/Bush what they wanted to hear about the evil empire. The same Robert Gates who assisted George H.W. Bush in stealing the 1980 election for Reagan by cutting a heinous deal with the Iranians to hold Americans longer than they intended.
That’s how Gates and the Bush family support the people who represent the US and put themselves in harm’s way – they sodomize them in full view of everyone in the world and the people vote for the criminals as they stand wrapped in the flag.
