Been said, but bears repeating.
And I keep thinking that maybe George Carlin was more than correct when he wryly said “the purpose of man is to create a new paradigm; earth plus plastic”.

Several years ago I took a ferry across the Bay of Naples from Sorrento to Naples. The sea was full of plastic crap.
EVERYONE SHOULD IGNORE THIS DIARY.
Polluting the oceans is OK. Just ask Obama.
Fuck. What do you want? A clean planet?
All those ships from other nations that bring all those goods manufactured over there for us. You know, the stuff made with our jobs. They dump their trash in the ocean on the way here. They have no thoughts to the planet like we do, and could care less about pollution.
There are no ocean police, so all the ships from all the countries in the world do the same.
It’s not one of our guys that leaves a cup at the beach that is the problem. We can’t change or police the world.
If you have ever traveled you would find that most of the rest of the world considers the ocean their trash dump. Island nations have no place for landfills, and although throwing their trash over a hill is good, they also dump in the ocean. Most of the world doesn’t treat their sewage, or have protections for their industries not to just dump everything.
You see mankind uses everything He can and discards it when He’s done with it. As the billions of His numbers increase He will inevidable, kill the planet He lives on. Eve threw down the apple core and made scat in the woods, so the polution started with the first man and woman. Thank God they didn’t have plastic.
