If you think that financial reform and healthcare reform show the heavy fingerprints of corporations now, just wait til the SCOTUS comes forth with this decision.
If you haven’t got behind those pushing public financing of all Federal elections, then I suggest you get involved now.

The decision was due as early as last tue. nothing on the court website yet.

When I saw this post I took it as if the decision had come down.

It is his prediction and I don’t see where he is wrong.
I predict in favor of corporate personage.
Not until after the first week of January now – the Supreme Court is on its holiday break.
The decision has been delayed until next year. But I think you’re right, ubetchaiam, we’re going to face a loss.
You see if a sitting Representative or Senator was not allowed by law to campaign for office while being in office, this would not be an issue.
We have been buffalo-d into thinking these people have a right to start campaigning and running for office the moment they are elected to office.
If it was against the law for them to take money from anyone for any reason while being in office, and in our employ, the corporations would not have the way into their pockets.
Taking campaign funds is a quid pro quo, no matter what they tell you. They are taking money to be influenced by the doner. This by everything this Country stands for should be against the law. But the laws and rules are made by these people or their benefit and not ours.
We like with other things look up to the Supreme Court, but these have to be political hacks to get the job, and this carries through in all of their decisions. If there ever was something in the Constitution that needs changed it is life time judges, that in no way can be held to account for their decisions.
You have elected officials that have no respect for their constituents because once their in they are in control. They all should be able to be re-called at any time. The idea that once elected we can’t get them out till the next election is absolutly wrong. This should go for presidents also. Almost every one of us could be fired or forced out of business at any time, but we allow that our elected leaders can do as they please and we are powerless to do anything to them. Waiting for the next election is like a death sentence for our rights.
We the people have failed to keep our Government in control, and allowed those elected and appointed to run rough shawed over us. Even though we pay their salaries, and they are to represent us, we see this doesn’t happen.
Instead of public financing which would be a blessing to them, we need to push for a law so they don’t need and can’t raise money while in office. This would take away the will and the power to want to run for office for the money, and maybe get people to run who actually want to help the people and their Country
