But how else are we to interpret this?
Existing group plans would have to transition to QHBP standards by 2018. Existing nongroup insurance policies would be grandfathered as long as there are no changes to the terms or conditions of the coverage (except as required by law), including benefits and cost-sharing. Such policies would be required to meet other conditions, including increasing premiums only according to statute. In addition, the Education and Labor version would shorten the current federal allowance for pre- existing health conditions exclusions (from 12 months to 3 months for most individuals) effective 6 months after enactment of the bill, and applicable until such time that federal standards eliminate exclusions for pre-existing health conditions. Special rules would apply to health plans subject to collective bargaining agreements.

The length and obfuscation in the now commonly referred to Health Insurance Reform legislation, after reading most of it, does a great job hiding the fact that this is a huge windfall for the insurers. Not unlike the Bank Credit Card Reform. Reform in name only, at a huge price to the American Folks. Shameful.
INVITATION: Using copy/paste from a bill, can you disprove the above?
For clarifcation, QHBP is defined as:

It’s time to buckle down, and get to know the legislation.
I will keep dropping in what I learn for you, but it would be great if we each took 20 pages. It’s more like 8, as the columns are 3 inches wide, the font large, and the line spacing wide.
I think they just want to be able to say “Thousand Page Bill” and scare our summer souls away.
Well, summer is over. Let’s get to work. HR 3200 is all we really have, and we sure could use some true experts helping with the analysis.
Although I believe laymen eyes are helpful. If Congress cant write a bill the people can understand, it makes me feel like they are hiding stuff.
Congress? Hide Stuff? Shirley you jest!
Does anyone actually believe that health insurance reform will come from the Congress, by either party. If so your nuts. Even what the dreded Democrats are writing now is not true health insurance reform. The insurance companies with just find other ways to grab more bucks to pay for anything the congress forces on them. So cost will rise instead of fall, by making the insurance industry pay for more things. WE have become so stupid we can’t see whats in front of our eyes. The Congress is responsible for every problem this Country has, yet we all are looking to them to solve our problems. They haven’t solved one problem this Country has yet, but now we think they will give us healthcare, or reform.
Yes, protecting the perpetrators of the crisis. One more time now. Deja vu. What perverse amoral compass does Obama follow. Money = Power
We were in dire trouble but we were in better shape than now, when we will be raped yet again by the corporate pirates while a passive and prostituted administration and Congress enable on.
So what about the “Trillion $$$$ over the next 10 years if the thing doesn’t even come into effect ’til 10 years??
Then, there’s THIS:
Key Liberals Willing to Bargain
and THIS:Max Baucus Plan: No Public Option, Non-Profit Insurance
He took all this time to come up with THIS????
