I think they plan to kill SSI and Medicare, or limit it to those without a certain level of assets.

As concern grows about our nation’s fiscal sustainability and fear of a spiraling deficit intensifies, The Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress (CSPC) will be presenting recommendations to the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee to help resolve our troubling fiscal future. The hearing will address why the creation of an independent Fiscal Future Commission is necessary to achieving our nation’s economic recovery and maintaining its long-range freedom of action.

The first panel will feature Senators Kent Conrad (D-ND) and Judd Gregg (R-NH), the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee, who will provide analysis about their bipartisan Congressional initiative, “The Bipartisan Task Force for Responsible Fiscal Action Act of 2009.”

They will be followed by an expert panel featuring Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan and Peter G. Peterson Foundation CEO and former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker, who will express their concern for our current fiscal situation and why the creation of such a Fiscal Future Commission is the best solution.

JOE opens with a reference to the the panel calling them the "leaders of the rebellion against our national debt".

JOE oversees the OMB. Good to know.

Does this gathering look bi-partisan to you?

Within the first 5 minutes, Joe likens our national debt to the threat of terrorists.

ALL OF A SUDDEN, The Congress that gave George W. Bush every penny he asked for, creating a huge deficit, who opened two war fronts and giving tax breaks to the wealthy, and the people who didn’t say boo while the world-wide economy was brought to the brink, and at the moment when millions of Americans are suffering because of 8 years of irresponsible fiscal policies THEY CAN’T SLEEP AT NIGHT because of their deficit.

They want to tie the hands of Obama and Congress to throw life lines to the American people, but don’t think twice about spending $700 BILLION on the Pentagon.

The hypocrisy is UNPRECEDENTED.

And calling the Homeland Security Hearing "Safeguarding The American Dream" sounds way too much like one of the principal drives of the right-wing Americans for Prosperity.
