Yeppers; ya did just fine, bgrothus. ;o)
Other Firedogs will fill in the tweets of the day and further information for us. Which charges were dropped, what the fines will amount to, what’s next, etc.
Great news so far, Barbara. You rock; all six of you. Solidarity!
Hope you and the others are out havin’ a margarita or two. ;o)
The gist of it is that the Judge dismissed the Trespassing charges, retained the Obstruction of Traffic and Refusing to Obey the Officer Krupkes. Sentence includes a year of probation, and fines and fees amounting to about $340. Read further in the tweeties for their possible future plans about appeals or fines.

Good news indeed. Good luck on appeal.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.>
Excellent news, wendy, thank you for letting us know what is going on.
Please keep us informed.
Absolutely all the best to Barbara Grothus!!!!
DW
wendy, what happened to your Emptywheel post…?
Such very good news. Thanks for letting us know this, Wendy. And thanks to everyone involved in the struggle. Big hug to you Barbara.
Ah, I needed to unpublish it to comply with the TOS request not to have more than two posts on the Recent Diaries list. The other was on the left side of the page, and I reckoned that if I unpublished that one, it would make some gaping hole in the thing-a-ma-bob. (That’s a technical term, as you prolly know, Tuttle.)
THD added some interesting stuff, so sorry you missed it, but as we know: Some needs outstrip others, and this one: BOOYAH!
Thanks to everyone who helped follow along with the LANL 6.
CTuttle wendydavis commented earlier about taking it down to not break the site rules of staying with only two.
Wrapping up the evening meet and then heading for home. Great news for sure, thanks for doing the honors with this diary.
I’m with TarheelDem @4.
I don’t think anyone re-posted this updated linky yet.
Longer written summary of today’s events.
{{{ bgrothus }}} I bow down thank you
Thanks for posting this,Wendy!
Very cool. They won’t face jail time until the appeals process is over. I think that’s right. Tejanarusa explained it in another post. aA good reason to raise money for appeal, imo.
I can chip in.
*heh* Those ‘Over Easy’ posts happen way too early, and by the time I get around to reading them, they’re already 100+ comments long…! Ain’t no way I’m gonna read ‘em all…! ;-)
My hat’s off to all you Early Birds in keeping SD’s memory alive and kicking…! *g*
I’m one of the early birdies, but can’t stay up late for your great music. But, I check it out in the am.
Thanks, CT, for your continuing efforts here and abroad.
Hugs also to your grandson. Haven’t heard what the haps are on the diagnosis of his seisures. Hope all is well.
woot!
Credit mostly goes to the diarists, CT. Thanks much though.
Just got back to my own desk, time for a light bite to eat and a cuppa tea.
Hoping we’ll hear from Barb her ownself yet tonight or in the morning.
I hope so msmolly, I’ve long been a fan of hers, and this action – proud to know her
wendydavis, you are a gal’s best friend forevah. Thanks for this. I guess I owe you all a run down of the day. It was pretty good.
All praise and thanks to the community on line, around the country and in the courtroom for their energy today.
Namaaste.
here she is!
thank YOU
Well, it started on Over Easy with Crane Station, cbl, yellowsnapdragon and some others and Wendy was kind enough to keep it going. Many people watching your courageous actions, Barb.
Many hugs.
Demi.
Oh, and Tejanarusa, who was watching with baited breath and chewed nails!
I probably should try to gather my thoughts a bit about my experience with this action before I write about it.
It is good to be home in my own bed with the cats tonight, and I am fairly beat from the day. But we did get a good hearing, much better than we expected. My co-defendants are an awesome bunch, and our testimonies made what I think was an impressive tale.
So give me a little time, and I will put up a diary tomorrow. REALLY appreciate all the support we had here and everywhere. It was Fantastic. Truly. Thanks again to everyone here for your love.
OMG. I had no idea. I will send the link to our team. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. Really. Incredible.
WOOT! So glad you’re here and not in the slammer tonight!
We were following on twitter and then I signed up for a free trial of the Los Alamos Monitor and there was the video of you, which I posted on Over Easy and Crane Station asked if someone would embed it in a diary and along came Wendy to do it and here we are!
I’m so very glad you’re home, bg! Big relief. And big thanks to you.
Mahalo, bg, and to your compadres…! Y’all rawk…! *g*
Thank you for posting this and keeping us informed, wendy!
bgrothus, so glad you didn’t have to go to jail!
Barbara!
So good to hear from you!
LOL, haHA! Don’t they have alarm clocks over there in Hawaii, CTutt?:)
Short conversation about LANL6 trial transcript availability here, something I have had to get twice, myself. Costs for a one hour transcript of a civil action were about $100 for 93 pages, 10 yrs ago. May be a backlog of work for the clerk of court so not always available on short notice. Not familiar with municipal court rules there, obviously.
I like good news.
Can we have more of it?
And thank you for mentioning Barbara’s scheduled trial on C-S’s thread yesterday, nonquixote. ;o)
More good news! Yes, Isaiah; wouldn’t that be lovely? The (ahem) gay-hating preacher ain’t gonna do the benediction at O’s inauguration now; that’s good news…
Thanks wendydavis,
In for a light lunch (seems I eat with regularity) and a quick glance around the internets. Be well.
Karma, good things can still happen for good people!
Popping back in and seeing that Barbara did come by. Looking forward to her own diary. Absolutely understand that she’s wiped out and needs some time to get it together.
She has earned some rest time. We will all be looking forward to reading it, whenever you are up to it, Barbara.
You all are so very generous. I just posted a diary, “Fighting the Nuclear Monster,” which I don’t see on My FDL yet, but it will come up, I am sure.
Thank you all again.
